Splendour In the Grass, the annual music, arts Festival which takes place on the outskirts of Byron Bay each July/August since 2001. The Festival has featured a staggering array of the world’s leading music talent including Coldplay, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, Moby, Brian Wilson and many, many more.

The festival is on the top of most discerning Australian music fan’s wish-lists of must-go Festivals, which combined with the event’s relatively small capacity compared to many of the summer festivals, results in feverish activity on the day tickets go on sale. This year’s festival will be the eighth Splendour In the Grass. The two-day event accommodates 17,500 people and has sold out in advance in each year of its existence, often within hours of going on sale – all tickets to last year’s festival were snapped up in just 5 hours, while the preceding three years’ events sold out in a little over a day.

Immerse yourselves in the full ‘Splendour experience’ and take advantage of the on-site camping adjacent to the festival site. You cab set up your tent right outside the gates and establish your own Splendid tent city.

This Years Acts areby no means a drop in standard to previous Years:

Block Party, The Flaming Lips, Janes Addiction, MGMT, Hilltop Hoods, Grinspoon, Midnight Juggernauts, The Specials, Augie March, Sarah Blasko, Friendly Fires, White Lies, Little Birdy, Josh Pyke, The Gutter Twins, Birds of Tokyo, Manchester Orchestra, Decoder Ring, Lost Valentinos, Bob Evans, Yuksek, Kram, Yves Klein Blue, Leader Cheetah, Jack Ladder, The Middle East, Polaroid Fame, Glass Towers

Its Official Faith No More will be Reforming!!

Faith No More have released a statement confirming that they will reunite for a tour this year.

The statement reads:

“During the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we’ve experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.”

The band then say reflection on their music prompted the reunion.

“What’s changed is that this year, for the first time, we’ve all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we’ve discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right…and so with this we’ve decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff…. BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!”

They conclude with a line-up confirmation, which does not include guitarist Jim Martin, who left the band in 1993.

‘We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM. Who know where this will end or what it will bring up…only the future knows. But we are about to find out!
